********************************************* * Minutes of the EW Working Group * * * * 23 sept. 1995 * ********************************************* 1. hadrons : the note with all the details of the analysis written by Arnaud should be available in a few days. Arnaud will present the final LEP1 results from TPC and calorimetric selections in Clermont. The list of hadronic events and cross-sections for the various years can be found on HPPLUS in the directories ~minar/public/year-numbers for all the years from 90 to 95. Marie-Noelle is also producing number of hadronic events/bunch. 2. luminosity. The note is still in progress. BHLUMI version 4.04 will be used in the end (the newest version advocated by Jadach) since this is the one that will appear on Comp.Phys.Comm. and will officially quote the 0.11% theoretical error. Version 4.04 will be checked against the previous one by producing a large number of events at generator level only. Since the numbers on the 95 luminosity have not changed after the last presentation by Eric, no new presentation is envisaged in Clermont. 3. muons. New n-tuples have been recreated for all years using the PECO information but systematic studies have not yet started. Andrea noticed the existence a certain number of events (a few hundreds per energy point) without energy flow information. However these events seem to be perfectly good ones. Contrary to what said at the meeting, this problem also occurs at the MC level and is therefore taken into account in the efficiency calculation. The problem seems to be associated to events ending in the overlap endcaps-barrel of the ECAL where the energy released in the towers is below threshold. Patrick has been informed of this "feature" and has provided a corrected version of the Julia subroutine GAPECO (correction available in ~janot/ALPHA/ENFLW/gapeco.f). Andrea said that he would like to present his final results at the EW meeting after the ALEPH week. AOB As far as the organization of the Clermont meeting is concerned for the moment we only have one talk in the agenda (hadrons). The idea is then to have a general EW meeting in november where final results on the leptons would be shown. We have fixed the date of november 13 at 10:00. People doing the analysis should also try to have a physics note ready by that time.
