Links to the release area

Restricted use of soft links

Soft links are only used in the current directory "links" to provide short-cuts to the release area. The only other case, where soft links may be used is to point to files within the same directory, e.g. to provide a link, which is independent from the version of a file. For example, several versions of a document may be kept in the same directory, but the URL pointing to the latest document should be independent of the version number.

For convenience, TWiki variables corresponding to the soft links are maintained in the WebPreferences. The names of the soft links are in most cases xxxDirectory. The names of the TWiki variables are the same, but all letters capitalized. Example: name of the soft link for the release area is releaseDirectory, the corresponding TWiki variable is RELEASEDIRECTORY.

Starting with release 11.2.0 the monolythic build per container is replaced by a build per project and the result is installed from the kit in releaseDirectory.

Links to latest released projects and source code

Links have been set up to access the latest builds of projects; the path gives also access to the source code in the dbg release; there is no source code in the opt release. The C++ code is stored in the package's src directory, the jobOptions are stored in the share directory.

The ATLAS release version is available from  projectDir > cmt > clean_release.log  and the versions of the used packages from  projectDir > projectRelease > cmt > requirements.

The following table provides other locations of interest, like the URLs for Doxygen documentation of the lastest release and the latest nightly release. Detailed explanation of how to use the Doxygen links is available. The links to the magnetic field map(s) are to be clarified. A description of various magnetic field maps is available.
