Installing/Running the Geant4 Simulation in Athena for the Muon Spectrometer

Basic Information

- Installation

First check out and setup the environment to run simulation.
The adopted procedure is exactly the same as the one adopted for the Atlas Spectrometer. Please refer to the ATLAS main page for intallation and running procedures. Once done

In your run directory copy through the command get_files and edit the file Atlas.mac
. Comment out all the lines in it referring to a detector different from the Muon System
then run your job as explained in the intallation and run page

For the time being, this is just a test job, to see that things were installed and are working properly. As you have experienced it is easy to run this example that is containing all the geometry for the MuonSpectrometer, the default PhysicsList for this exercise (QGSP_GN), the Magnetic Field Facility and the prompt run of 2 events.

You can modify the parameters written in the jobOptions and setup the simulation following your wishes.
