Help for offline software
For ATLAS computing there are multiple possibilities to ask for help or report problems/bugs. Several HyperNews (HN) forums exist for general or specialized questions and are seen by a large community; you may get a quick answer and it is easy to post a question. Before submitting a problem check Recent HN postings.
Savannah is a tracking system for bugs and tasks; entries are set up for specific "projects". Reported problems may be attributed to one person and are followed up until a solution is found. The submission process is, however, more time consuming than posting an HN message.
Various mailing lists are used by subgroups, but are increasingly replaced by HyperNews forums.
Note: not all forums/mailing lists and Savannah entries are listed below. Get specific help addresses from your sub-system group. If we missed an important link, please inform the page maintainer.

Selected specific work areas
We need to think carefully about which Savannah_projects/hypernews_forums to list here. This is a preliminary list. I considered to put links for the different package areas (generators, simulation, ...)
Mailing lists
Please let us know if there are strong arguments to list any of the Simba lists. For now the intention is to remove this section all together.
