WICO - Ray tracing in Wisconsin Cone
Ray-tracing simulation programs are commonly used in designing optical
systems for particle detectors. They allow to evaluate, for example,
efficiency collection, light mixing capability and time spread of a light
guide. The WICO program performs a ray-tracing procedure through the
unusual geometry - difficult to implement in general purpose simulation
programs - of the "Winston Cone" light concentrator.
WICO might be useful in designing any light concentrator that requires
the maximum collection efficiency allowed by Lioville's theorem.
