Minutes of the CLIC Meeting - 16 March 2007

Agenda:
Profile Measurements at CTF3: Past, Present and Future
Speaker:
Carsten Welsch

Abstract

The measurement of the transverse and longitudinal beam profiles in the CLIC test facility (CTF3) has proven to be a challenging task due to the high beam power and high radiation level in large parts of the machine. In particular, special care has to be taken in the choice of materials and observation techniques.
This talk will review the different profile measurement techniques used at CTF3 together with recent improvements. Results from transverse and longitudinal beam profile measurements as well as from time-resolved energy measurements will be shown and plans for future developments will be discussed.
