Measurement of the WZ production cross section in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV
Abstract: A measurement is presented of the WZ production cross section in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV with the CMS experiment at the LHC using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.34 fb$^{-1}$. The measurement is performed in the leptonic decay modes $ \mathrm{ WZ } \rightarrow \ell \nu \ell' \ell' $, where $\ell$, $\ell' = \rm{e}$, $\mu$. The measured cross section $ \sigma( \mathrm{pp \rightarrow WZ }) =$ 36.8 $\pm$ 4.6 (stat) $^{ +8.1}_{-6.2 }$ (syst) $\pm$ 0.6 (theo) $\pm$ 1.7 (lumi) pb, for Z bosons produced in the mass region 60 $< m_{\mathrm{Z}} <$ 120 GeV, is consistent with standard model predictions.
