Measurement of differential top quark pair production cross sections in a fiducial volume as a function of event variables in pp collisions at $ \sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV
Abstract: A measurement of the normalised differential cross sections for top quark pair production with respect to a number of event-level observables is presented. Approximately 71 pb$^{-1}$ of data collected using the CMS detector at the LHC in 2015 at a centre-of-mass energy of $ \sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV are used. The analysis is performed in the lepton plus jets channels, where the lepton is either an electron or a muon. Unfolding is performed such that the results can be compared with theoretical predictions at particle level in a fiducial phase space volume. The results are compared with predictions from different Monte Carlo event generators, which are all able to describe the data within their large statistical uncertainties.

Summary
A measurement of the differential cross section of top quark pair production with respect to $ {E_\mathrm {T}^{\mathrm {miss}}} $, $ {H_{\mathrm {T}}} $, $ {S_\mathrm {T}} $, $ {p_\mathrm {T}^\mathrm {W}} $, the jet multiplicity, the lepton $ p_\mathrm {T} $, and the lepton $ | \eta | $, in the lepton plus jets channel has been performed with 71 pb$^{-1}$ of pp collision data collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The precision of the results is dominated by the large statistical uncertainties, which is due to the small integrated luminosity. The results are, in general, in agreement with predictions of the standard model.
