Software Development Tools Service

Eric Poinsignon

Abstract

Description, content and news from the service.

In SDT service we actively help software projects in CERN experiments to identify, evaluate, purchase and use industrial software development tools. Network floating licences are used as much as possible, so that the tools can be run remotely. We can also, if you have an AFS account, give you access to our Solaris server in case the binary for your platform is not available. You can find the complete information on what we have and how to use it at URL:

http://sdt.cern.ch/

Contact e-mail address: Sdt.Support@cern.ch

New tool in production

CodeWizard 3.1
Coding standards enforcement tool that prevents errors and stanardises C/C++ code.
It runs on SUN/Solaris, IBM/AIX, HP/HPUX, SGI/Irix, COMPAQ/Tru64, and PC/Linux.
CodeWizard is provided with 70 predefined rules, and you can add your own. A set of CERN rules are defined but not implemented yet. All the details are in the page http://sdt.cern.ch/CodeWizard/Rules.html

SDT Service has moved to building 513

The e-mail addresses and phone numbers didn't change, but if you need paper documentation about a tool, you need to come to 513,1-005. Same if you need to borrow one of our CDROMs, except for FrameMaker which is distributed by Mario Ruggier in 1,R-017.
