Question

When I try to stage my tape the system answers ``Tape not in Vault''. What does it mean ?

Answer

The way to check if a tape (e.g. wa0325) is or is not in the vault ``from the software point of view'' is by issuing the command (from CERNVM or UNIX services):

sysreq tms q vid wa0325

The information about its real location is in field 6:

WA0325 ZH 3480 38000 SL WA_B186 19950728.090511

The above says that the tape is in the ``Experimental Tape store in B186''. If you try staging such tape, the system immediately detects the above fact and returns to you saying ``Tape not in Vault''. You must physically relocate the tape to the vault (B513) and you will see:

WA0325 ZH 3480 38000 SL WA_VAULT 19950728.090511
