dxnews - New News Server Dietrich Wiegandt IT/DIS
Following the announcement of 13 November, 1997, host
dxnews.cern.ch
has ceased to act as a news server in the late afternoon of Monday, 8
December, 1997. Please change all references to it in the configuration of
your news reading program to point to
news.cern.ch instead.
In principle, switching from the old to the new newsserver machine should be transparent to users, except for a possible small desynchronisation of article numbers which is unfortunately unavoidable. So do not be surprised if you sometimes see an article again that you have seen before.
