Macintosh Mail Migration

At the DeskTop Forum in the meeting of February 19th, it was decided to restart the migration away from QuickMail. After careful testing and user evaluation the following strategy will be adopted:

The majority of the users will be migrated to Eudora Pro (POP3), for which we will acquire a site license. Eudora has been greatly appreciated by the group of pilot users. It is considered to be very easy to use and has minimal memory requirements (i.e. it runs well on all Macintosh models used at CERN).
Users needing IMAP for mobility reasons will be proposed Netscape 4.

The migration will be carried out on a Mail Center by Mail Center basis and each user will receive further information in due course.
