Task Force (TF) meeting of 2005-08-09

Executive summary:

  1. We can't do Action 18 in the migration plan http://cern.ch/dimou/lcg/registrar/TF/lhc-vos-transition.html due to late delivery of voms-admin on Oracle into the glite distribution (submitted on July 29th, left for glite R.1.4 planned for end of August).
  2. We still have the staffing problems listed in the Executive summary of the previous meeting and several times since January 2005, when it became apparent that the ORGDB link code would be delivered late.
  3. glite voms installation procedures for R1.1, R1.2, R1.3 contain many bugs, different at every release. We submit them in savannah (tickets 8956, 9949, 10025, 10163, 10203 , 10204 , 2381 but integration of fixes in releases is slow.
  4. Installation of an intermediate Nightly build after glite R1.1 led to an non-upgradable installation on the server lcg-voms.cern.ch .

1.Physics Database Group assistance required to include the database backend in their managed servers.
2.Developers' participation needed for smooth mysql to oracle db migration.
It is important that Maria, Miguel Anjo and the developers meet at CERN for this.
