Figures are formatted using the predefined Figure table format. To insert a figure, place the cursor at the desired logical location in the flow of the text and, from the Table menu, insert a table using the Figure format.

What happens when this is done is:
An Anchored Frame should now be inserted (into the upper cell) using the Special menu. The size of the anchored frame may then be adjusted as desired and the contents of the figure placed in it. The pictorial contents of the figure may now be placed into the Anchored Frame , using images created with FrameMaker or imported from other applications, whether by reference or by copy.
Remember that if graphic images are imported by reference then the external image files must always accompany the FrameMaker source file. Also, it is advisable that the graphic format used is one that FrameMaker supports across all platforms, such as Encapsulated PostScript.
By default, created Figure tables may float. FrameMaker may therefore display such a table further away from the point where it is logically placed in the text, to maximise page usage efficiency.
