FrameMaker tables are used not only as normal tables but also to format figures. A few predefined table formats are included in the template to facilitate both these uses. However, as properties like straddling and irregular ruling may not be stored as part of a table format, there may be a certain amount of table customisation necessary. This may be tricky to the uninitiated especially as some customisations are lost when a document is updated with the formats of a new version of the template. So, in the hope of saving you a lot of unnecessary work, we provide below an outline of some general recommendations 1 about table usage and customisation.
