A Licenced Viewer Version Gives Error "File is too big for demo version!" or "This copy of Designer viewer is licensed to X" (where X is typically your organisation)

If you have a licensed HP-GL viewer version, which has started to give an error message window File is too big for demo version! or This copy of Designer viewer is licensed to X (where X is typically your organisation) on some HP-GL files after the 7th of December 2009, the licence file of the viewer needs to be updated. This problem affects a small part of users with very old licence files (HP-GL licence versions created earlier than July 2000, in particular all viewer versions less than or equal to 5.00). Even if the viewer version had been updated to a later one, it is possible that the original licence file was kept in place and it must now also be updated.

For CERN users:

All users of Windows PCs, which are being managed by CMF, should already have the updated licence file after a redeployment of the centrally managed package. If this is not the case, contact HP-GL Support.
All users of lxplus and centralized Linux distributions should have no issues as the licence file is centrally managed. If the licence file has been copied locally (for portables etc.), get the new licence file manually from here: hpglview.dat and copy it to the directory, where the licence file has been installed, most likely /usr/share/hpglview.
MacOS X users, get the new licence file manually from here: hpglview.dat and copy it to the directory, where the licence file has been installed.
Users with a non-standard installation, get the new licence file manually from here: hpglview.dat and copy it to the directory, wherever the licence file has been installed.

For non-CERN users:

Get the new licence file rom here: hpglview.dat and copy it to the directory, wherever the licence file has been installed.
