CERN Accelerating science

Hi, I'm Jeff!

Jeff

I'm a staff scientist, managing CERN's national and international Teacher Programmes and conducting physics education research with high school teachers and students. Besides, I'm investigating how best to use medical applications of particle physics as an interdisciplinary tool for science diplomacy and capacity building in low- and middle-income countries.

I obtained my PhD in physics through the Austrian Doctorate Programme at CERN in cooperation with the University of Vienna, and I hold an Executive Master in International Relations degree from the Geneva School of Diplomacy. In the past, I worked as a high school physics teacher in Vienna, Austria, and I frequently volunteered at an orphanage in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Aside from my postdoctoral research projects and the coordination of CERN's Teacher Programmes, I'm also heavily engaged in CERN’s S'Cool LAB. In addition, I'm a highly active conférencier and guide, and I have introduced thousands of students and teachers to the fascinating world of high energy physics.
