This version uses LHCb v50r0, Gaudi v30r2 and LCG_93 with ROOT 6.12.06.

This release includes the merge to master of the future branch, done in November 2017 - see !198 commit history for details of future changes that were included

This release also contains all the changes that were made in Lbcom v22r0 (released on 2018-patches branch, see corresponding release notes), as well as the additional changes described in this file.

  • Removed the runtime CPU capabilities detection and dispatch code. Instead rely on the build platform settings to determine the SIMD level. This is necessary to allow the use of SIMD (Vc) types more generally, rather than in very localised places.
  • Updated the ray tracing tool to use the enhanced SIMD aware methods from the mirror segment finder tool.

• Adapt several linker algorithms to Linker base class, !205 (@sstahl)
  The way MC links are handled will likely change in the future. To make things forward compatible and allow conversion of the current links to Transformers while also keeping things working, a new base classes for the linkers are proposed that inherit from (Multi)Transformer. They have a few convenience methods to ease the transition. The 2 VP and an OT associator have been converted to this new base class as a test case.
