How to use MAD-8 at CERN

There are two versions of MAD-8 available, the "production" version (default) 8.23.06 which has been frozen in 1999 and will not be further developed; and the "new" version which has been developed further (see latest changes and additions) and is currently 8.51.09 (december 2001).

Using the "pro" version: /afs/cern.ch/group/si/slap/scripts/mad -pro (the -pro is optional).
Using the "new" version: /afs/cern.ch/group/si/slap/scripts/mad -new. This new version is mandatory for the LHC since it contains new features like matching two sequences simultaneously, and the "bv" flag.
