MAD (originally Methodical Accelerator Design) is a program widely used to design and calculate the properties of particle accelerators.
Version 9 is a complete re-design and re-write of the program started by Chris Iselin at CERN and based on the "Classic" library of C++ classes for accelerator physics. Development work has been carried out among:
BNL (J. Scott Berg), CERN
PSI (Andreas Adelmann ) and Tech-X.
HELP,cmd;

Classic is a C++ class library for accelerator physics. Roughly speaking, the "physics" in MAD Version 9 is based upon it.
