I am currently working in Geneva at CERN. I am a Service Manager in the CERN Linux Support Team. I am also leading the AI Chatbot use case to enhance an AI Chatbot Proof of Concept developed in 2023. Concurrently, I am developing an IT-specific use case. I am liaising with corresponding IT Technical Delivery Groups to secure necessary resources and support for the project. Additionally, I am actively engaging with user communities to gather feedback and requirements for future iterations of the service. I am contributing my expertise to validate the service concept and drive its formal assessment, aiming to establish a robust foundation for a future generative AI service implementation at CERN.
I also have the following roles within the IT Department at CERN:
Until June 2022 I led the IT-CM-Linux & Configuration Support Section, which provided services such as:
Until January 2016 I led the IT-PES-Platform Support Section, which took care of:
Previously I worked in IT-DES-System Infrastructure Services Section, where I used to be responsible for:
At the end of last century, I provided Solaris Support and Solaris Security as well as computing support for PaRC Engineering Applications: FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Electro-magnetic field and CAD/CAM tools (such as ANSYS, Pro/Mechanica, Mafia, Maxwell, Pro/Engineer, EUCLID, etc). I helped coordinating hardware and software resources needs for the EDMS project and other projects in IT/DES.
I have lived in the Geneva Region for several years. I was born in Logrosan/Caceres/Extremadura . For that I have to thank my parents. The first 22 years of my life I lived in Catalonia in the Valles Oriental. I studied computing at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. When I was a student I worked part-time as System Administrator at the Institut de Fisica D'Altes Energies.
Currently I am not looking for a new job, but you may be interested on hiring me. If that's the case, you can check my CV in LinkedIn. Job offers are always considered.
