Arrival of the 100J CO2 Laser

On 15 April 2002, the 100J laser (destined to be the Power Amplifier in the LIS laser chain) arrived at CERN.

The ITEP and TRINITI (Moscow) constructed laser, will be installed into the former High Voltage cage used for the Ion Source of Linac 2. The installation and tests as a free-running laser oscillator will take approximately 8 weeks, to be followed by the construction of the full CO2 laser chain (Master Oscillator and Power Amplifier).
