The Power Amplifier has delivered its first beam on the 4th September 2002. Using 3 amplification passes 50 Joules was attainded in the first shots, increasing to 100 Joules with optimisation.
The pulse length is at present rather long (at 40ns) and still requires adjustment. The laser resource is still required to be reached.
