Known storage outstanding issues

1. dCache: Random failures (observed at Lyon) in accessing files via gsidcap. The error is as follows:

   Failure unspecified at GSS-API level. Caused by COM.claymoresystems.ptls.SSLThrewAlertException: Handshake failure
           at COM.claymoresystems.ptls.SSLConn.alert(SSLConn.java:235)
   

   This issue has been understood and will be fixed with dCache 1.8.0-15p8
2. General issues with file access on Storage Services through protocols such as rfio, gsidcap. This is being followed closely with a set of tests that will be run at sites.
3. dCache: slowness with bulk deletion. TRIUMF overcame this with a special setup:

   At TRIUMF we run the PNFS service and SRM service on two separate higf-end machines. Each machine has its own local Postgres DB.
   Their tuning uses 512MB of shared buffers and other tweaked parameters.
   Another important factor is that we use dedicated 15K rpm SAS disks for the DB access exclusively. All system logs and dCache services logs are written to a separate disk.
   

4. dCache or LHCb env: Invalid XML character:

   This issue has been cured with dCache version 1.8.0-15p5
5. Inconsistency between dCache PNFS content and the files on the SE.
6. Staging does not work well at dCache sites. Problem under investigation in order to understand if this is really due to dCache or to experiment frameworks. More details can be found here.
