Removing CERN BDII usage in SSM
CERN is planning to stop running top level BDII instance.
In order to disable dependency of the site accounting on the CERN BDII instance, there are two possible solutions.
- Replace CERN top level BDII instance in your site configuration by the top BDII instance of your region, or by any other top level BDII instance. Among possible alternatives are :
- Provide static info for the message broker used by APEL in the SSM and APEL client configuration
Changes required for replacing CERN top level BDII by other instance
Changes required to provide static info for the message broker used by APEL
For SSM: /etc/apel/sender.cfg
- In the [broker]section comment out ‘bdii’ and ‘network'
- Set “host:” and “port:” to either of:
- broker-prod1.argo.grnet.gr:6162
- mq.cro-ngi.hr:6162
Changes required in APEL client to remove site level BDII dependency
- APEL client takes conversion (benchmarking) factor to translate wall clock time (hours) into wall clock work (HS06 hours) from site level BDII. In order to get rid of this dependency, the following changes are required.
- In the [spec_updater]section set ‘enabled’ to ‘false'
- Set benchmarks manually with manual_specN variables
- Please, pay attention, that this change is required, only if he site decides to stop running site level BDII. It is not relevant to the dependency on the top level BDII described above.
