remote reset and serial console for the Linux Support "lab" machines:

Serial console

refslc-3-* and lxcert-* are connected to lxcnetlab1 with the standard SLAC serial console server setup, i.e.
ssh lcert-i386.headnode.cern.ch
console machinename
(use "console -x" to get a list, escape character is ^Ec, i.e. ^Ec. to disconnect. See http://service-console.web.cern.ch/service-console/ for more.)

IA64 management board interface

Available commands (use ^B to get back to main menu):
  • reset: cm , rs , (confirm: Y) (exit: ^B) (connect to console co)
  • power: cm , pc
  • console: co (not se)
Entering the menu may require a username (mopladmin) and password (see AndreasH or Jan). Try without first.

Hint: the OS sees the serial console as ttyS3.

remote reset for i386, x86_64

To reset a non-ia64 machine, login to lxcnetlab1, then eg.
$ /usr/local/resetboard/push-button ttyS0 1 4 2
will reset board #1, port #4 for two seconds. Cables #1,2,3,4 are hooked up to resetboard ports number 1,2,3 and 4 respectively.

/usr/local/resetboard/layout.txt has the mapping between ports and machines.

Please be careful to reset the right machine only. Please be DOUBLY CAREFUL when cabling new machines to the resetboard thingy.
