Software updates for RHEL 3/4/5Server machines

Red Hat updates are downloaded automatically using mrepo on lxsoft/lxnfs systems. In order to feed these updates into rpms build system (and swrep) following manual actions are required:

Source packages (SRPMS)

Run /afs/cern.ch/project/linux/adm/bin/updaterhelsrpms [-y] 3es|4es|5server

Above command will download srpms into /afs/cern.ch/project/linux/mirror/redhat/linux/updates/enterprise/{3AS,4AS,5Server}/en/os/SRPMS/ directories: make sure there is sufficient space available there ... (AFS volumes: p.linux.rh3ASusrpms, p.linux.rh4ASusrpms, p.linux.rh5r)

Note: -y option will send announce e-mail to lxsoft-admins@cern.ch, without it you will be prompted if an e-mail is to be sent

Binary packages (RPMS)

Run /afs/cern.ch/project/linux/adm/bin/updaterhelrpms [-y] 3es_i386|4es_i386|4es_x86_64|5server_i386|5server_x86_64

Above command will download rpms into /afs/cern.ch/project/linux/enterprise/updates/{3ES,4ES,5Server}/en/os/{i386,x86_64}/ directories: make sure there is sufficient space available there ... (AFS volumes: p.linux.rh3ESu, p.linux.rh4ESu, p.linux.rh4ESu_x, p.linux.rh5u, p.linux.rh5u_x)

Note: -y option will send announce e-mail to project-elfms@cern.ch, without it you will be prompted if an e-mail is to be sent
