Rota roles (draft to be reviewed)
At this time Linux rota role include :
- Rebuild and Update slc5 / slc6 packages
- Sync CC7 and SIGs packages
- Deal with security issue in a timely manner
- Maintain linuxsoft repositories
- C5 reports with updates and relevant information
- AIMS2 support
- Linuxsoft.cern.ch ; distribution server support (all distributions + official mirrors)
- Postgres DBonDemand for koji follow-up (itssb for unavailability, backups)
- Oracle DB for aims2 follow-up (itssb for unavailability)
- Grant RHEL/RHEV licenses to users
- Report ticket to Red Hat (see below)
- Bi-monthly Red Hat meeting for ticket follow-up
- Change service account password and update tbag values
At this time Koji rota role include :
- Tag creation
- User creation
- Debug issue with rpm build problem.
For the Cloud image support:
- Docker repo creation
- Docker user creation
- Build and Publish official cloud/docker images
Pre req
- RPM building skills ; rpmbuild / repos / yum understanding
- Introduction to linuxsoft architecture (TBD soon in a Section meeting) and official distribution scripts.
- Koji / image factory crash course.
- Debugging skills ; Desktops/Servers support bring any kind of issue on different software stack.
Important Rules
- All problems reported as a SNOW ticket. No Jira.
- No support for additional package not in the distribution ; important packages for big communities can be added to -extra or -cernonly.
- No support for Fedora / Ubuntu / etc... Second level has best effort policy at this time for those.
- Machine access should be request by 2nd level and available when ticket forwarded to 3rd level. (cern-linuxsupport-access --help)

Reporting issues to Red Hat
Problem is reported to happen on SLC6/6 or CC7
- Reproduce in a non puppet environment
- Reproduce on a licensed RHEV / RHEL machine
- Generate a "sosreport"
- Go to http://access.redhat.com
- Open a ticket and provide all information
- Change snow ticket to "Waiting for 3rd party" and add case number
