SupportProblem YUM gives errors if the "mpeg4ip" RPM from DAGs repository has been installed
Error: Missing Dependency: libavcodec.so is needed by package mpeg4ip

SupportAnswer Solodkov Sanya found a solution at http://lists.rpmforge.net/pipermail/users/2007-January/000517.html : 

yum install libmp4v2
rpm --erase mpeg4ip
yum update

An alternative approach from N. de Metz-Noblat is to "lock" the versions of the offending packages: 

rpm -q mpeg4ip ffmpeg-libpostproc ffmpeg >/etc/yum/pluginconf.d/versionlock.list
yum update -y
