Minutes of the LIM meeting, Oct 20, 2005
Present: Emil Obreshkov (ATLAS),
Andreas Pfeiffer (SPI)
Apologies: Florence Ranjard (LHCb), David Quarrie (ATLAS), Vasily Kabachenko (ATLAS), Shahzad Muzaffar (CMS), Eric Poinsignon (SPI)
Actions:
The last quarterly update from RedHat for RHEL4 (the base for SLC4) has
upgraded the compiler from version 3.4.3 to 3.4.4, implying a "fallback"
to this compiler version (3.4.4) for the certification and the porting
on SLC3 for ia32 and amd64. In the last AF Atlas has stated their need
for a build with gcc 3.4.4 also for the SLC3 IA32 platform.
Therefore the new set of platforms will be (once the porting has been done):
slc3_ia32_gcc344, slc3_amd64_gcc344, slc4_ia32_gcc344 and slc4_amd64_gcc344.
GENSER 1.2.0 is being released. This version will also have tarballs for
the individual generators available for download (see the genser web page).
SEAL 1.7.5 has been updated "in place" for an urgent fix requested by LHCb.
POOL 2.2.3, PI 1.3.8 and COOL 1.2.5 are being build based on this release.
This series of releases is still a developers release to validate the Reflex
based POOL.
New issues:
Next meeting: Nov. 3, 11:00.
Action items:
new and outstanding:
- check status of DAWN/DAVID installation in external
- create tarballs for CLHEP for the individual granular libraries/subpackages.
- check/validate the directory structure of all LCG AA projects (checkout and install area)
- create "LCGAA" pseudo-package for lcg-installation-manager.py to download the binaries of a related set of releases in one go.
status of releases:
- a bugfix versions of SEAL for the reflex based branch (1.7.5) was made, POOL 2.2.3 and COOL 1.2.5 are being build presently.
