Question
Hello, could the plugin be debugged and installed in the default setting that allows a user to attach multiple files at one time?
Uploading one file at a time is extremely inefficient and wasting productive hours when there are ~50 files to be attached every day...Thanks!

Answer
If you are uploading 50 files as attachments to TWiki pr. day, I believe you should look into using some other tool or a regular web-site that offers you ftp access or similar.
TWiki is a collaboration tool for web documentation, not a file-sharing or file hosting tool. The attachment functionality is "as is", and the plugin to upload many files is not supported at CERN.

Hello,
as far as I am concerned, I (or my colleagues) upload a dozen of files every two weeks, and twiki is adapted to my needs. Therefore, I would find it very useful to have the possibility to do it in one operation as the current mechanism is painful. Could you please provide me with a solution ?
Thanks ! Florian Beaudette

Actually, I have a similar problem. I understand twiki is not a filesharing or filehosting tool, but sometimes one needs to update the pages. It would be useful to upload many files at once, as at the moment it takes me not less than an hour to upload just ~40 plots. Making it more time-consuming to upload plots is not a solution to the filesharing problem.
Is there any possibility to upload a file through the linux command line, a python script, ...?

The new version of TWiki due out last Spring will have this functionality.

I actually have the same problem. For instance, I need to update this page:
https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/System8Results .. I tried uploading using the command line (curl), but I couldn't get the magic right to get past the SSO.

As said previously this will be part of the next version which will be made available in the near future

Closed. This feature is part of the Usability Enhancements from version 5

Forgive my ignorance, but I can only find the proposal for the solution on the twiki pages, and cannot find how to actually upload multiple files at once. You say this feature is now part of the enhancements, but is the version not actually released yet? If it is then do I have to turn on a plugin to make it work? Best, Daniel Hayden

We have been working on version 5 and we should have it ready and in production in April/early may

Hello,
Is the multiple attachement uploading is active in the CERN TWiki?
If yes, can you please point me to a how-to?!
Thank you,
Levente

Yes it is there is the new version. When in the
Attach new file
page you must browse for a file to upload and it then appears below the browse text box. You can repeat this as many times as you want before clicking on
Upload File

Hi Peter,
Thank you. Unfortunately even this way one has to go back to the file selection windon n times since I cannot select multiple files at once.
Cheers,
Levente

Please refer to the first answer on this page: TWiki is NOT a file exchange system. If you have a large number of files that you want to make available on the web, you should rather upload them with FTP on some other web server.
