GLite 3.1 Update 46
Release – Update 46 includes DPM
and LFC 1.7. DPM
1.7 includes changes needed for correct publishing of installed storage
capacity at sites using this SE. Therefore all WLCG sites are strongly
encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible. This update also included
updates to the VOMS client. This was not originally intended, but RPM
dependencies made it necessary.

Sites Should Test SCAS/glExec - Tier1s and bigger Tier2s are encouraged by the WLCG management
board to deploy SCAS/glExec for testing in a production environment, to be
done through the pilot installation the SCAS team. There is an interesting
post on the GridPP blog concerning High Availability LFC. Link
4 May 2009 – Minutes
CREAM CE for CMS - Request to sites supporting CMS to deploy CREAM CEs in production,
or to enable CMS in the existing ones if this is not the case, to support
the CMS CREAM pilot which has decided to focus activity in a new instance
of WMS-ice deployed at CNAF pointing to production cream CEs.
CE Information - VO related info published by YAIM
for CEs maybe incorrect, only for new installations (new CEs), read release
notes for update 45 to gLite 3.1 sites without 64 bits capability have to
stay with gLite 3.1 for now; no plans at the moment to deprecate gLite 3.1,
depends on how long need to be supported before all hw at the sites moves
to 64 bits.
27 April 2009 – Minutes
Issues with 64 Bits
WNs - Sites in the UK and in South East Europe highlighted the fact
that they will rely on strictly 32 bit hardware for some time. As such the
final demise of gLite 3.1 as being the last 32 bit release is very
significant to them.
20 April 2009 – Minutes
GLite Update 44 Released - gLite 3.1
update 44 with CREAM-CE released to Production and is especially useful for
CMS and ALICE.
6 April 2009 – Minutes
RSS Feed for Downtime Modifications - ATLAS
requested for the RSS feed to be updated if a downtime is modified, and the
modification itself logged. GLite releases are on schedule. There are now
reference cards for gLite services.

Migration from CVS
to SVN - Discussion on the CVS to SVN migration of experiments code
repositories. Changes in the priorities and plans from the experiments due
to the new LHC schedule.
SLC5 Migration
Issues - CERNLIB libraries has been re-compiled and tested by ATLAS.
New failures of the FIO provided SLC55 lxbuild nodes for the nightly build
service(s). Slow responsiveness. Released new version of gLite for SLC5 (64
bit)
Virtualization
Workshop - A lot of interest and nice feedback for both multi-core and
virtualization R&D activities at CHEP. Starting to prepare the workshop
on adapting applications and computing services to multi-core and
virtualization.
19 March 2009 - Minutes
Geant4 Patch
Released - A new Geant4 patch for 9.2 was released last Monday. CMS was
waiting for it. Both ATLAS and CMS are now aligned to the same version of
Geant4.
SLC5 Migration
Issues - One of the biggest problems for the SLC5 migration is being
the slow acquisition and correct configuration of the lxbuild nodes. The
CERNLIB libraries need to be re-compiled with -fPIC to avoid the problem
with SELinux detected by ATLAS.
Experiment SLC5
Migration Status - CMS is prioritizing on the 64 bit version first.
LHCb is running SLC5 native code on the nightly builds. ATLAS is also currently
integrating on the nightly builds. ALICE already migrated.
