Projects were introduced beginning of 2006 for better control of dependencies and to provide an independent pace of development for groups of packages. The figure shows the projects and their dependencies. Note that AtlasSimulation is independent of AtlasReconstruction, AtlasTrigger and AtlasAnalysis.
