Service Description

The Documentation and Information REtrieval on Computing Technology (DIRECT) service has been created as a result of User Support activities coordinated by the User Consultancy Office. Its goals are:

• provide access to computing documentation produced by CERN/CN Division,
• enable the User Community to purchase computing books and CD-ROMs from leading book publishers through our COmputing Book Selling (COBS) service,
• be a focal point for Computing Information not produced at CERN but electronically available:
  • Books and Magazines
  • Tutorials and Primers
  • Manuals, Reference and User Guides
  • Collections of Frequently Asked Questions.
