New Book Titles Available at the UCO

  Roger Woolnough CN/DCI

Since the last Newsletter we have received a new book on CGI Programming for the WWW (these are simple scripts for use on the WWW for diverse operations). The WWW journal is available as is a new book on Java (``Java in a Nutshell'', from O'Reilly). The latest Java book is proving as popular as the first and a second order was necessary due to the demand.

What used to be called Hyper-G and is now Hyperwave is now available in a book form by the developer himself (Hermann Maurer). This system is a new hyper-media for Internet. The book includes evaluation software and admin tools on a CD-ROM; it should be in stock by the time this CNL is published. We will shortly be receiving more books on Netscape from both Ventana Press and in the ``Using'' series from QUE.

The long-awaited book on Windows NT from Prentice Hall has just arrived, The Heart of Windows 95 and Windows NT by Marshall Brain. This book had a fantastic success in the USA and has had to be reprinted before arriving in Europe. Some titles on ``Access'' that have been requested by users will soon be available, and as usual all new titles are announced in the cern.computing newsgroup.
