On the left, between the pole pieces of the magnet, an electrostatic position pick-up. On the blue table, the device marked "Tesla" is a dipole magnet producing a bump in the beam orbit at SS16, needed in order to eject the beam there. Between the magnet and the pick-up, a beam stopper that protects the SEM grids in SS48, SS52 and SS54 from being damaged by the beam. |
