Search for dark matter direct production using razor
Abstract: Directly produced dark matter is searched for in proton-proton collision data, collected by the CMS experiment at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}\,=\,8$ TeV. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 18.8~fb$^{-1}$. Events with at least two jets and no isolated leptons are studied. The razor variables are used to quantify the transverse balance of the jet momenta. The study is performed separately for events with and without jets originating from b quarks. The observed data yields are consistent with the expected background predictions. Exclusion limits at 90\% confidence level on dark matter production are derived for different assumptions on the production mechanism.
