PWG2 MC production requests page

In this page we propose and discuss the new MC production requests from PGW2 and we summarize the requests that were already finished.

Current production requests

Therminator, Pb+Pb, centrality 20-30%, 20k events

Details of the production: AliRoot v4-17-Release, Therminator mode, residual misalignment

Status: validated with v4-17-Release, accepted by the PB

HIJING 25k events, for phi v2

Details of the production: HIJING model, AliRoot v4-17-Release, residual misalignment

Status: request submitted, accepted by the PB

Production requests under consideration

EPOS, pp 900 GeV, 2M events

Details of the production: AliRoot v4-17-Release, EPOS model

Status: EPOS model in AliRoot, stil validating simulation scripts

This production is intended as a cross-check for the Pythia based models that we have used so far. It should show consistency with other productions and available data at this energy.

EPOS, pp 7 TeV, 2M events

Details of the production: AliRoot v4-17-Release, EPOS model

Status: EPOS model in AliRoot, stil validating simulation scripts

This production is intended as a prediction from EPOS for the maximum LHC energy this year. Again it is intended as an alternative prediction for the Pythia-based models.

Therminator, Pb+Pb, centrality 0-5%, 20k events

Details: AliRoot v4-17-Release, residual misalignment

Status: should be easy to set up, as the configuration is identical to the 20-30% case with minimal changes

It is intended as a continuation of the Pb+Pb prodcution validation. Therminator includes freeze-out coordinates (critical for Femto) and natural elliptic flow (important for Flow). It also has strongly decaying resonances. This request should also be the most strict test for reconstruction, as it has maximum multiplicity.

Therminator, Pb+Pb, centrality scan 5-10%, 10-20%, 30-40%, 40-50%, 20k events each

Details: AliRoot v4-17-Release, residual misalignment

Status: should be easy to set up, as the configuration is identical to the 20-30% case with minimal changes

A complete scan of centrality bins from Therminator, intended as complementary to 20-30% and central samples.
