Meeting with Philippe 16.04.2008

Mother snapshots: /afs/cern.ch/project/theory/gridQCD/mother_snapshots_0. Each of 16 files corresponds to one beta parameter.

Execution: hmc_su3_Nf2+1 < input_Nf2+1 (parameter file on stdin). Updated executable /afs/cern.ch/project/theory/gridQCD/hmc_su3_oneoutput

--> Remember about ulimit -s 20000

Input files:

  • fort.1 snapshot

Output files:

  • fort.2 output snapshot
  • fort.11, fort.12, fort.13 : result (one line per iteration), the lines of consecutive iterations be appended after processing

Estimated randomization phase: 200 iterations (100h). This is an optimistic estimate. Effective iterations start after the snapshot has been sufficiently randomized.

The estimated total number of effective iterations needed: 1 million (mimimum). This is 10 CPU-years.

With 500 worker nodes we may create around 30 random replicas per mother snapshot. Randomization/effective iterations ratio: 10%. To obtain equal iteration number for all replicas we need around 40 days of full speed production.
