Configuration variables for BDII

IMPORTANT NOTE!!: Updated documentation for the configuration of BDII is now under https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/Site-info_configuration_variables#BDII.

These are all the necessary variables to configure the site BDII and the top level BDII.

Configuration variables for site BDII

  • site-info.def variables:
    • Mandatory variables: sys admins must define the following variables. They can be found in opt/glite/yaim/examples/site-info.def:
      • CE_HOST
      • SE_LIST
      • SITE_BDII_HOST
      • SITE_EMAIL
      • SITE_LAT
      • SITE_LONG
      • SITE_NAME

  • site BDII specific variables
    • Mandatory variables: sys admins must define the following variables. They can be found in /opt/glite/yaim/examples/services/glite-bdii_site:

BDII_REGIONS List of node types publishing information to the BDII. For each item listed in the BDII_REGIONS variable you need to create a BDII_<node-type>_URL variable node-type name 3.0.1-0

SITE_WEB Site web site TIER 1 or TIER 2 3.0.1-0

(*) The URL for services using MDS is ldap://information_producer_host_name:2135/mds-vo-name=local,o=grid and for services using BDII is ldap://information_producer_host_name:2170/mds-vo-name=resource,o=grid.

Configuration variables for top level BDII

  • site-info.def variables:
    • Mandatory variables: sys admins must define the following variables. They can be found in opt/glite/yaim/examples/site-info.def:
      • BDII_HOST
      • SITE_NAME

  • top level BDII specific variables
    • Default variables: sys admins don't need to worry about these variables provided by YAIM in /opt/glite/yaim/defaults/glite-bdii_top.pre, unless they need to change the value for their site needs by re-defining the variable in the site-info.def:
