Error

You check the results of a failing SAM test and see something like the following:

+ lcg-cr -v --vo ops file:/home/samops/.same/SE/testFile.txt -l lfn:SE-lcg-cr-tbn18.nikhef.nl-1188991269 -d tbn18.nikhef.nl
CGSI-gSOAP: Could not open connection !
lcg_cr: Communication error on send

Solution

One source of this error is the srmv1 daemon dying. Check the files in /var/log/srmv1/ and you might find clues. Fix by restarting the daemon:

service srmv1 restart
