Lightweight sites

Introduction

The GDB's Lightweight Sites Working Group was created in May 2018 to support sites deploying lightweight site models. The mailing list is project-lcg-gdb-lightweight-wg@cernNOSPAMPLEASE.ch

The WG aims to pass on the experience of existing lightweight sites to new ones, and encourage communication between developers, experiments, and these sites. Topics include lightweight installation methods for conventional services, creating sites remotely on cloud resources (eg CloudScheduler), and service-less vacuum models using pull rather than push (eg Vac, Vcycle, BOINC). The group will avoid duplicating the development effort of existing groups and task forces, but may identify development which is required to address gaps.

Lightweight Sites Profile

The Lightweight Sites Profile collects interfaces we need to retain or replicate.

Models vs experiments tables

The Lightweight Sites Tables will show which lightweight compute and storage models are supported by which experiments.

2016 status summary
