Scope and Mandate
The general strategy defined by the WLCG Management Board and the GDB to define the technical evolution of distributed computing tools for LHC experiments is described in
this document.

Meetings
People and communication
Dario Barberis (Genoa/ATLAS) and Dave Dykstra (FNAL/CMS) chair the DB TEG.
The group is open to all contributors. Mail exchanges use the list wlcg-teg-database at cern.ch.
Activity
The group agreed to split up the writing of the document into four subgroups:
- Databases for conditions data (Frontier/squid/CORAL/COOL/CoralServer/POOL). Group conveners and editors: Giacomo Govi and Andrea Valassi
- Databases for detector controls data (PVSS). Group conveners and editors: Rainer Bartoldus and XXX.
- Database operations (Oracle). Group conveners and editors: Luca Canali and Gancho Dimitrov
- Databases for distributed computing tools and metadata (data production & management, including NoSQL). Group conveners and editors: Mario Lassnig and Simon Metson
