Question

E.g. at the page https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/ECALODMonitoringTools the image attachments do not display in the body of the article. I see only the name of the attachment where the image used to display. Images still display properly if I click on the attachment at the bottom of the page.

Problem is solved if I authenticate using CERN authentication. But images should display if the page is accessible without authentication...

Answer

This is a result of a security update. The way you include the images uses the direct URL. If you call the image using viewfile then the image is loaded as expected. This is a known issue and we are working on it.

This has now been corrected and images can be viewed without authentication (unless requested by the author)
