As ATLAS Database Project reorganized on 2006/05/22 - a high-profile Database Deployment and Operations activity is now defined.
| General Information |
Support for deployed database and data management services at CERN and around the
world. Covers the design, integration and deployment of the distributed database infrastructure,
support and/or liaison for administration and operations for databases away from
CERN, and liaison to CERN IT/DB for CERN-based ATLAS database services.
Also involves support for special needs, e.g. services for test beams, large scalability
tests, etc.
Contacts, responsibles
Alexandre Vaniachine provides support for central services at CERN, and coordination
of services elsewhere.
Status, priorities, timescales
Many services, both MySQL and Oracle, at a number of sites, are used for the many
database applications of ATLAS (file catalog, job metadata, production catalog, conditions
data, geometry data, tag collector, etc.)
The area priority is a timely ramping up of distributed database services in support of commissioning and operations start-up.
