Updated packages for GT 5.2.2 are available in EPEL testing. - [[http://bit.ly/globus_5_2_2][Link toEPEL Update]]

Developers of EMI packages using globus libraries and services should
check that the new version works with their software.

The most significant change in this release is that the
globus-ftp-client library now enables gridftp2 by default if supported
by the server. This means that the patch (originally from VDT) applied
to the previous version to allow enabling gridftp2 using an environment
variable has become obsolete and has been dropped. So those that were
relying on this method to enable gridftp2 should take extra care to test
that the new version works as expected for them (this applies to FTS,
and possibly others).

EMI third-party protection for Globus 5.2.1 - 30 Jul 2012

• the protection on the EMI third-party repositories for the Globus 5.2.1 is activated.
• PTs with dependencies on the Globus 5.2.2 update should test them using the epel-testing repositories and send the outcome of this tests to the R.M.

Globus Toolkit 5.2.4 in EPEL testing - 25 Feb. 2013

GT 5.2.4 is available in EPEL testing.

IGE is planning to send GT 5.2.4 to UMD as part of IGE 3.2 which is
scheduled for March 31, so we would appreciate feedback some time before
this.

This update is relevant for the https://ggus.eu/tech/ticket_show.php?ticket=86101 - " support for client to force using IPv6 via an environment variable"
