Objectives

  • Define and promote the creation of the conditions, collaborations and agreements to allow the EMI services to become sustainable, through the definition and organization of exploitation results, targets and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the definition of marketing strategies and interact with users and developers communities exploring and communicating the project impact on prospective stakeholders
  • Contribute to and drive the establishment of a standardization roadmap together with standardization bodies and other relevant projects and guide the implementation strategies within the EMI project
  • Deliver a strategy for long-term integration and interoperability with other relevant European and international projects and commercial partners through the definition of wide interest technical roadmaps and use cases

Processing NA3.1 – Workpackage Coordination (Task leader: JUELICH, all partners participate to meetings and reviews)
This activity consists in the coordination of the WP tasks, participation to project meetings and events, production of deliverables and participation to the overall project QA process.

Processing NA3.2 –Sustainability, Exploitation and Collaborations (Task leader: NIIF, Participants: JUELICH, INFN, UiO, UWAR)
The task focuses on the definition and monitoring of the project exploitation plans and the creation of sustainability through the establishment of collaboration programs and the wide adoption of EMI software by permanent structures and communities. The success criteria for this task are the continuing and growing usage of the middleware components, the inclusion of components in distributions like Fedora and Ubuntu and the actual establishment after the end of the project of further activities in collaboration with or independently from the EMI partners

Processing NA3.3 – Standardization, Integration and Interoperability Strategies (Task leader: JUELICH. Participants: UiO, AS)
This task consists in the definition, coordination and validation of the EMI middleware standardization activities and roadmap. This task includes the definition of the standardization policies and work plan, the coordination of the standard compliance and conformance tests as well as the active participation in Standard Definition Organisations to advance the state of the art and promote the EMI standardization roadmap. The success criteria of this task are the availability of the initial and the updated standardization plans, the successful adoption of the agreed standards by all relevant EMI services and a measurable impact on international initiatives, like the formal acceptance of innovative or improved standards by the community. This task consists in the continuous collaboration with other projects and initiatives developing distributed computing middleware or application. This task includes the investigation of integration and interoperability requirements, the participation in and organization of common events, the investigation of new technologies from other projects and their impact on the EMI services and the definition of shared long-term roadmaps.
