Mandate and expected results

• Explore possibilities of how a EMI-UI similiar like the "gLite UI" might look like for the various EMI technologies
  • TBD: Mandate (including deadlines) to be revised by PTB

Scope

• Take existing work of the EMI components (e.g. gLite UI) into account and evaluate it
• The idea is to gather requirements from DCIs to know which clients they need. In the case of WLCG, gLite UI and gLite WN is needed.
• The other middlewares should provide a similar list, which is then bundled together for creating a yum group.

Issues

• The main issue to discuss is to check with WLCG whether they need SL5/32bit versions of the clients, as it is the case right now. To do this we need to clarify who is the contact person to WLCG? Will be discussed in PEB (23/02).
• yaim-clients have to be maintained for the meta-packages in EMI? It configures in general gLite UI, WN and VOBOX. Some expert from gLite has to to that. Who?
• Providing the meta-packages only as RPMs or as also as tarballs?
• As long as EMI WN is not yet available, glite WN should be used (e.g. for tutorials).
