EMI Grid Testbed: gLite Grid Information System (BDII)

LDAP search example to list available services

For viewing all resources published in the bdii run the following command line (example for production resources!):

$ ldapsearch -x -H ldap://certtb-bdii.cern.ch:2170 -b mds-vo-name=local,o=grid

or configure your ldap browser to use endpoint as above.

In case of queries for Resource Candidate (RC) or EMI Preview Activity resources the hostname in ldap URL has to be modified accordingly (see details about BDII instances publishing resources below).

Resources published by the BDIIs

Resources published by BDIIs can be checked using links to configuration file, specified below for each BDII instance.

• BDII configuration editor (authorized users only!!!)

Currently information systems for production, RC resources and EMI Preview Activity are separated (dedicated instances od BDII - as listed below).

Services being under testing / development or not accessible from other sites cannot be published using these BDIIs. They have to be included in a custom BDII (not as visible part of EMI certification testbed).

Adding / removing / modifying resources in BDII configuration

• To request any modifications on BDII configuration please do it using official communication channel.

• For BDII sysadmins: links to BDII configuration editor are in logbooks.

Configuration notes for service administrators

• Please use DNS alias of the BDII host in your configurations. Doing this you will avoid reconfiguring your services in case of changing BDII host in the future.

• For BDII configuration details (hostnames, current BDII configuration etc.) - please check logbooks.
