Topics

Development

  • Java library
    • currently creating detailed plan
  • C library
    • need to define development steps
    • framework on which to base the developments
      • gsoap would be the one due to experience
      • can be used from Alvise's POV. Furthermore gSOAP does support C++ code generation resulting in less code wrapper; Axis2 just produces plain C that leads to more wrapper code that must be written
      • initial work already commenced: just a very simple client versus a logic-less server implementation in AxisJava; the aim was just to quickly test interoperation between gSOAP 2.7.13 and AxisJava, and to test if gSOAP was perfectly parsing the EMIES's WSDL, being able to correctly communicate data and faults to the server (and correctly understand the responses).
  • Python
    • clearly after C

SAGA

  • came in as a requirement from EGI during the AHM
    • Supposedly, EGI user groups want it
    • not officially communicated as a requirement
      • Björn will have to talk to Michel Drescher (EGI) again

TODO

  • Björn: Talk to Michel about SAGA requirements
  • Alvise: write more detailed plan about C/C++ developments for phase one (lower level classes + abstractions)
  • Marco: contact PTB about SAGA issue
